Frogger in Mexico

Back home, my wife has one of those really old school portable frogger games (It still works).

I remember playing this game as a kid quite a bit on my computer, on my nintendo, or in the arcade.

But unfortunately, over here in San Luis Potosi Mexico, they play a different kind of frogger game and it scares the daylight out of me.

It involves this Highway...

The posted speed limit is 60 km/h, but nobody does it.  We've traveled this highway at speeds of 120 km/h and we still get passed.

Every morning the highway is packed with cars, trucks and motocycles.  All travelling very fast.

It's quite chaotic and then we see this...

And this...

Yes that is a familly trying to cross the highway.

As crazy as that was, take a look at the following...

This person is standing under a pedestrian crossing bridge.

A FROGGER CHEAT CODE!

There's one of these bridges, or an over pass with a cross walk under the highway, every kilometer of so that they can use to cross the highway, but many don't use them.  That is insane!

The really sad thing is, I also see in the center medium crosses, flowers and little memorials for those who didn't make it.  There are more than I can count.  I didn't that a picture of these, because I feel bad for the family members who placed them there because someone didn't use the safer route.

I hope I never see someone not make it.
